The exploits of center fielder Earl Wiley, who is tied for 5th in the PAA in doubles with 15, helped the San Antonio BC defeat the Lannister United Lionhearts, 3-2. Wiley went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. Jim Unknown, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities. San Antonio is in 9th place in the Premier AA with a record of 27-42.
Miguel García drove in one run for San Antonio. In the bottom of the eighth, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, García delivered for the BC. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put San Antonio on top, 3-2.
"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Wiley told the San Antonio Daily News.
