Lionhearts Fall to Screaming Eagles, 6-5
|
Martín Alejadre had a good game, but he could not keep the Lannister United Lionhearts from falling, 6-5, to the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles at Lionheart Field. The Lannister United left fielder went 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 in the loss. The winner was Leoncio Ulibarri, who threw 70 pitches over 5 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 3 hits. Earning his 3rd save for Mercer Island was Fernando Torrez.
Also making an impact was first baseman José Rico, who drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the first for Mercer Island. For the game, Rico went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Lannister United manager Ernesto Reyes. "But we decided not to take it."
The Screaming Eagles now own a record of 36-27.
