Farmers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Lannister United, 4-1
|
The Lancaster Farmers picked up a win at Farmers Field, knocking off the Lannister United Lionhearts, 4-1. Starting pitcher Mike Brandner played a key role in the triumph. Lancaster reliever Seishiro Sato got the win, raising his record to 2-3. Doug Freeth was tagged with the loss. Ammuc Mwenda got the save, the 3rd for him this season.
Lancaster grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Luis Freitas delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Farmers.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," said Brandner.
After today's action, Lancaster sits at 23-34, while Lannister United falls to 35-22.
