BC Come Up Short at Asheville
|
Asheville starter Romano Martínez had a strong outing against the San Antonio BC at Asheville Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 1-0 win. Asheville reliever Luis López picked up the win to move to 3-3. Adam Green suffered the loss. Brandon McAllister earned the save for Asheville, his 4th of the year.
Ed Lastinger, who was drafted in the three round of the 2024 draft, aided the Asheville cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-3.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Juan Sánchez.
Even with the win, the Asheville Highlanders have a dismal 18-37 record.
