Northern Lions BC Trip Thundercats in Extras
|
The Richardson City Thundercats got a superb performance from center fielder Eduardo Álvarez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Thunder Bay. The Northern Lions BC won the game, 9-6. In spite of the loss, Álvarez was named the player of the game. He went 2 for 5 with 2 triples and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Thunder Bay reliever Rafael Rodríguez picked up the win, upping his record to 6-6. Armando Gonzáles absorbed the loss. Thunder Bay goes to 40-57, Richardson City to 55-42.
Carlos Rodríguez's hit in the top of the 14th was a game-changer. With no one out, he rapped a fastball from Armando Gonzáles for a run-scoring single. It put Thunder Bay in front, 7-6.
"There's no quit in this team," said Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC manager Scott Williams.
