Lionhearts Pin 6-4 Loss on Highlanders
|
The Lannister United Lionhearts topped the Asheville Highlanders, 6-4, in USPL Double A action at Lionheart Field. The player of the game was Lannister United pitcher Emershan Naidoo. Naidoo, now 8-2, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. Their 33-20 record puts the Lionhearts second in the Premier AA.
A defensive miscue in the bottom of the seventh could have cost the Lionhearts. With Lannister United leading 2-1, Steven Mitchell reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. In the end, Lannister United was still able to win the ballgame.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Mitchell.
