The Lannister United Lionhearts picked up a win at Lionheart Field, knocking off the Asheville Highlanders, 3-2. On the mound for Lannister United was left-hander Doug Freeth, who played a pivotal role in the win. Freeth got the win, improving to 8-3. He allowed 7 hits and walked 3 over 7.2 innings. Freeth allowed no earned runs. Ramiro Flores finished the game for Lannister United and earned his 4th save.
Also producing for Lannister United was catcher Charlie Rhodes, who stroked a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Rhodes went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Richard Weaver.
Lannister United is second in the Premier AA with a record of 32-20.
