Farmers Walk Off with Win
|
Gerry Fleck never let the Little Caesars Hot N Readys find their groove. Throughout the game, Fleck, who is rated as the 41st best prospect by BNN, relied on his bread and butter, his fastball, in pitching the Farmers to a win. Lancaster reliever Ammuc Mwenda picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Juan Soto was saddled with the loss. At 20-29, the Farmers are currently 8th in the Premier AA.
José Alcalá was the walk-off hero for Lancaster. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Lancaster left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Alcalá told a Lancaster Today reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
