Highlanders Fall to Misfits, 3-1
|
James Dockery never let the Asheville Highlanders find their groove. Throughout the game, Dockery, who is tied for 3rd in the PAA with a 1 complete games, relied on his bread and butter, his fastball, in pitching the Misfits to a win. Dockery picked up the win for Salem, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-3. The Misfits, at 20-25, sit in 7th place in the Premier AA.
In the bottom of the 4th, the Misfits grabbed the lead when Jorge Gómez rapped a two-out double. Salem was trailing 1-0, when Gómez hit a 2-run double off Gus Gamble to put his team in front, 2-1.
"Enjoyed this one," Dockery told the Salem Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
