Hops Continue Hot Start to Season with Win
Fans who came to Hops Park watched the Yakima Hops and the Lancaster Farmers fight to the finish.

Benefiting from the performance of Javier Marino, the Yakima Hops defeated the Lancaster Farmers, 9-1. Marino was 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Hops. Bryan McKinney picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-1. He struck out 5 in 7 innings.

The Hops got a big at-bat from Yehonatan Chazan. For the game, Chazan was 2 for 4 with a triple and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Yakima a 3-1 lead.

In comments to the Yakima Gazette, Marino admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."

The win puts the Hops at 23-11, while the Farmers drop to 14-20.
