Hot N Readys Turn Back Lancaster, 9-3
|
In a tight contest at The Pizza Oven, the Little Caesars Hot N Readys edged the Lancaster Farmers by the score of 9-3. The Little Caesars Hot N Readys' shortstop Bernard Gauthier, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Ed O'Quinn was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with no walks and 10 strikeouts. Little Caesars currently is in 8th place in the Premier AA at 10-12.
Gauthier came through with some timely hitting for Little Caesars. With the score 2-0 in the bottom of the first and one down, Gauthier hit a 2-2 slider for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season -- and a big reason the Hot N Readys managed to win.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Gauthier said.
