The Asheville Highlanders defeated the Little Caesars Hot N Readys, 5-3, in USPL Double A action at Asheville Park, with Asheville catcher Tomás Valenzuela named player of the game. Asheville reliever Brandon McAllister was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Kermit Sebold took the loss for Little Caesars. The Highlanders, with only their 1st win in 4 games, have not had much to write home about in 2027.

Asheville took control in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and a runner on 1st, Marcos Calderón hit a run-scoring double to make it 4-3, Highlanders.

Calderón attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
