Maher goes 3-for-3, Leads Hops to Win
|
The Yakima Hops topped the Asheville Highlanders by the score of 7-4, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Bob Maher. Maher was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Hops. Yakima starter Emílio Mavarro was credited with the win after throwing 75 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Yakima, now 3-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
