Braves Saddle Nobles with 4-3 Loss
|
The Gryfindor Braves knocked off the Bakersfield Nobles, 4-3, at Jerome Grounds. Ignacio Medine, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Gryfindor won. The left fielder was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner was Kenny Koehler, who threw 107 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits. The Braves improved to a lofty 55-43 mark.
The game turned with two out in the top of the seventh when Medine, who is tied for 3rd in the PAAA with a .520 slugging percentage, hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Braves into the lead, 4-3.
Bakersfield manager James Wheeler said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
