The Milton Dogfish Head got a stellar performance from pitcher Juan Lara, who handcuffed the Gryfindor offense en route to a 3-2 win at Milton Corner Tavern. Manny Pérez got credit for the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Carlos Valentín converted his 1st save in 2 tries.
In the bottom of the 7th, catcher Andy Putman gave Milton the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Dogfish Head had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out double off Gryfindor pitcher Rodrigo Torres changed that -- and Milton went on to win.
"The vibe's good," said Milton manager Wes Murray. "We've got to keep it going."
Milton has now won 5 games in a row.
