Spirited fans at KC Reserve Stadium greeted the Athletic Club KC Reserves for their clash with the Houston BC.
Jimmy Whittier pitched a good game, but his team, the Athletic Club KC Reserves, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the Houston BC at KC Reserve Stadium. The winner was Mike Owens, who threw 102 pitches over 6.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with 1 run on 6 hits.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 2nd in the top of the first. That's when Alfredo Rivera, who is tied for 7th in the PAAA in doubles with 15, hit a run-scoring single. The BC went on to win.
"I like what I saw today," said Houston manager Willis Crawford, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The BC sit in 6th place in the Premier AAA with a record of 35-40.
