Late Rally by Braves Secures Win
|
The Braves faced a stiff challenge from Athletic Club KC pitcher Ángel Rivera, but persevered to claim a win at KC Reserve Stadium. The final score was 4-3. Rivera went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Gryfindor reliever Octávio Ríos picked up the win, upping his record to 7-3. Jeff Krause was saddled with the loss. Today's win puts Gryfindor at 36-30, while Athletic Club KC falls to 33-33.
Bob Campbell had the most critical at-bat for Gryfindor, coming in the top of the ninth inning with two out and a runner on 1st. Campbell hit a full count fastball from Jeff Krause for a 2-run home run. It put Gryfindor in front, 4-3.
"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Campbell told the Gryfindor News.
