The Houston BC picked up a win at Houston Park, knocking off the Plymouth Rocks, 2-1. Starting pitcher Carlos Méndez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. With the win, Houston has a record of 30-32. Plymouth falls to 29-33.

Yoshihito Samurakami provided some late-game heroics for Houston. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a 0-1 fastball from Roberto Aguirre and propelled Houston to a 2-1 lead.

"I like what I saw today," said Houston manager Willis Crawford, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
