Braves Defeat Reserves, 6-5
|
Athletic Club KC center fielder Geoff Rivers was sensational. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Gryfindor beat the Reserves, 6-5. Rivers was named the player of the game despite the loss. Kenny Koehler picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 3-0. The Reserves fall to 8-10 and continue their wobbly start to the 2027 season.
Chris Murray in the top of the eighth had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Braves leading 4-3, the Gryfindor catcher hit a 2-run double.
"It feels good to get that win," said Murray. "Now it's on to the next one."
