Loss to Northern Lions BC Extends Oakland Losing Streak
Thunder Bay catcher Carlos Padilla was instrumental in his team's 5-2 win over the Oakland Oaks. Padilla, who is rated as the 54th best prospect by BNN, went 3-5 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Northern Lions BC. Ryoichi Maruyama, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. Oakland now has a 6-game losing streak.

Padilla came through with some timely hitting for Thunder Bay. With the score 2-1 in the top of the fifth and two down, Padilla hit a 1-0 cutter for a run-scoring double. It was his 8th double of the season -- and a big reason the Northern Lions BC managed to win.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Padilla told the Thunder Bay Bulletin.
