Drijver goes 3-for-4, Seahawks Move to 1-0
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks opened their 2027 season with a triumph over the Provo Mango at Seahwaks Stadium. The final score was 8-6. Myrtle Beach left fielder Kelly Drijver had a big game. He went 3-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Myrtle Beach reliever Carlos González got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Savon Scarver was tagged with the loss. Greyfriars Bobby earned the save for Myrtle Beach, his 1st of the year.
Myrtle Beach grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the eighth, when Drijver hit a bases-clearing double. His 1st double put the Seahawks out in front, 8-5.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Drijver said after the game.
