Dodgers Blank Hawks, Morris Wins
|
The Chicago Hawks were almost helpless today in their 5-0 loss to Brooklyn hurler Brian Morris. He kept them confused the entire ballgame and spun a 6-hit shutout.
The Chicago manager said in the postgame interview, "Tip your hat to Morris. He kept us off balance all night."
Morris said, "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play. It was just one of those games that things went my way."
He had no walks and 4 strikeouts in a strong performance.
This season Morris has compiled a 1-1 mark with a 3.42 ERA in 2 starts.
