Delgado Helps Evergreens Run Win Streak to 3
|
The Portland Evergreens bested the Buckhead Bowties, 7-3, at 5 Paces Park. Raúl Delgado was named player of the game. He was 4-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He drove in 7 runs and scored once. Leroy Picot picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 4-8. Portland is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Delgado had a game-changing double in the top of the third. On a 0-2 fastball from Pedro Ortíz, he banged a bases-clearing double to left, giving the Evergreens a 5-2 lead. It was the 10th double of the year for Delgado.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Delgado.
