Capital District right fielder William O'Keefe picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Chicago Gold Sox, 6-3. Luis Peńa earned the win to go to 6-4. He allowed 1 earned run on 10 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts. At 38-52, the Red Knights find themselves in 10th place in the Third League.
Also producing for Capital District was second baseman Bernardo Hernández, who stroked a 2-run double in the top of the first. For the game, Hernández went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
In comments to the Capital District Daily, Hernández insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
