Kop 'Lights Out' in Brooklyn Win
|
The Brooklyn Dodgers went home winners at Ebbetts Field, thanks in large part to starter Eddie Kop. Kop silenced the Houston 1837 BBC, enabling Brooklyn to grab the 4-1 win. Sjaak Bonne, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 27th save. Brooklyn has now won 9 straight.
Kop, who was born in Oranjestad, Netherlands Antilles, threw 116 pitches over 8.2 innings, while allowing 1 earned run.
"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Kop told the Brooklyn Gazette.
