Evergreens Squelch Chicago Offense in Shutout Win
Chicago had no answer for Portland Evergreens starter Ryan Peterson, who flummoxed Hawks hitters as the Evergreens cruised to a 6-0 victory. The winning pitcher was Peterson, now 6-5. He tossed 6.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. The Evergreens improve their record to 36-53 with the win over Chicago.

Brad Perry also delivered for the Evergreens. The veteran first baseman belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. The longball put Portland on top, 3-0. Overall, Perry belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice.

"I thought we played a nice game," Perry told the Portland News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
