|
Capital District Red Knights starter Leroy Moody pitched a strong game against the Chicago Gold Sox at Gold Sox Field, leading the Red Knights to a 6-3 win. Miguel Toro was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 24 of 27 save opportunities. Capital District now sits in 10th place in the Third League at 37-51.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Danilo Mosca came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Chicago pitcher Decheng Sun, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Capital District on top, 5-3.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," said Moody.
