Detroit pitcher Domingo Ramírez did his part in helping his team beat the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The 6th-place Renaissance are now 31-35, the Northern Lions BC 25-41.
Brent Ryan took Andrés Martínez deep with two out in the bottom of the first. On a full count fastball, Ryan drilled a 2-run home run to left. It was his 13th home run of the season and put Detroit on top, 2-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Ryan told the Detroit Today.
