"Getting ahead of the hitters is the key," said Primes-Willes.
Chicago starter Shuntavyious Primes-Willes pitched effectively against the Capital District Red Knights at Capital Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a 9-1 win. With the win, Chicago goes to 26-18, while the Red Knights fall to 16-28.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Noel Ballard came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Capital District pitcher Enrique García, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Chicago on top, 2-1.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Primes-Willes said.
