Tritons Hang 2-1 Loss on Disaster
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Jersey City Tritons and the Port Royal Disaster, pitcher Ricardo Rodríguez was excellent. The Jersey City right-hander was named the player of the game in Jersey City's 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Rodríguez, now 8-7. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 8. Tetsuzan Kaneko finished to wrap up his 9th save.
Also having an impact was first baseman Marlon Randall, who stroked a solo home run in the bottom of the third for Jersey City. For the game, Randall went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It's a mindset," said Rodríguez. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
Jersey City is third in the Silver AAA with a record of 56-46.
