Disaster Take Tight Tilt
|
The Disaster had to overcome a fine effort from Jersey City pitcher Carlos Medina to grab a 4-3 win at Jersey City Grounds. Medina went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Port Royal now sits at 37-64, while Jersey City falls to 55-46.
Ricky Payton, who is tied for 5th in the SAAA in triples with 5, aided the Port Royal cause with a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh. For the game, the center fielder went 1-2 with a triple, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Payton told the Port Royal Bulletin.
