Red Pandas Suffer 5-4 Setback
Sioux Falls got a terrific performance from right fielder Steve Duncan, but it wasn't enough to beat the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds. Ellenburg won the The Bamboo Forest contest, 5-4. Duncan was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ellenburg starter Jared Cox was credited with the win after throwing 93 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. The 6th-place Fighting Dachsunds raised their record to 48-50.

Gonzalo Sánchez in the top of the sixth had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 3rd and the Fighting Dachsunds trailing 3-2, the Ellenburg third baseman hit a run-scoring double.

Sánchez told the Ellenburg News: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
