The Tortolita Drummers overcame a good performance by Phoenix third baseman Martín Martínez to knock off Phoenix, 9-6, at Thunderbirds Stadium. Martínez went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. At 45-49, the Drummers are currently 8th in the Silver AAA.

Gilberto Juárez found himself in a pressure situation in the top of the tenth. Facing Phoenix hurler Ricardo Sánchez, the 20-year-old catcher hit a sacrifice fly. His 48th RBI of the season put the Drummers on top, 7-6.
