Halberds Shut Out Disaster
|
Alloway beat Port Royal at Ballpark of Port Royal, eking out a 3-0 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Orlando De Jesús, who earned player of the game honors. De Jesús, now 1-2, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 9, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Alloway, at 47-43, occupies third place in the Silver AAA.
Flexing his muscles for Alloway was Robbie Young. The first baseman had a 3-run home run in the top of the second for the Halberds. It put his team ahead, 3-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Young went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Young said.
