9-4 Drummers Win over Hotspur Reserves Evens Season Record
|
The Tortolita Drummers downed the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 9-4, at Drummers Ballpark. Gilberto Juárez led the way, going 2-for-4 for Tortolita. Jim Unknown was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. With the win, Tortolita goes to 37-37, while the Hotspur Reserves fall to 36-38.
Juárez came through with some timely hitting for Tortolita. With the score 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth and one down, Juárez hit a 1-2 knuckle curve for a 2-run double. It was his 8th double of the season -- and a big reason the Drummers managed to win.
