Halberds Come Up Short at Ellenburg
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds did just enough to sneak past the Alloway Halberds, 5-3, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Ellenburg pitcher Bill Gentry earned player of the game honors. Ellenburg reliever Lance Hodges was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Bob Browning took the loss for Alloway. Picking up the save was An Jang-Yop, his 4th.

Ellenburg took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ron Bunch hit a run-scoring double to make it 3-2, Fighting Dachsunds.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Gentry told the Ellenburg News.

Ellenburg is now 33-38, Alloway 38-33.
