Drummers Top Flyers to Even Record

The Tortolita Drummers faced a tough opponent in Pennsauken pitcher Augusto Ramos, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Pennsauken Park by a final score of 7-4. Ramos went 7 innings and allowed 5 earned runs. The winner was Jim Unknown, who threw 116 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 9 hits. Jim Unknown got the save, the 1st for him this season.
In the top of the 6th, catcher Gilberto Juárez gave Tortolita the lead when he hit a 2-run home run. The Drummers had been trailing 4-3, but the two-out home run off Pennsauken pitcher Augusto Ramos changed that -- and Tortolita went on to win.
"Some wins are easy, some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Juárez told the Tortolita Herald.
The Drummers go to 35-35, putting them 7th in the Silver AAA.
