Red Pandas Pull Back to .500 with Win over Disaster
|
The Sioux Falls Red Pandas beat the Port Royal Disaster, 6-4, at Ballpark of Port Royal. The Red Pandas got a fine performance from center fielder Chris Gregory, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Sioux Falls reliever Fernando Marés was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Alfredo Hernández took the loss. Jim Unknown was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
The game turned with two out in the top of the seventh when Gregory, who signed a 3-year contract worth $20,180,000 on 02/23/2027, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Red Pandas into the lead, 6-4.
"We take it day by day here," said Gregory, "and today was a good one for us."
With the win, the Red Pandas have a record of 25-25.
