Chong 3-4 as Red Pandas Squeeze Past Alloway
The Bamboo Forest was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Sioux Falls Red Pandas and the Alloway Halberds.

A 4-RBI performance from second baseman Kap-yong Chong led the Sioux Falls Red Pandas to a 10-3 win over the Alloway Halberds. Sioux Falls starter Jim Unknown was credited with the win after throwing 111 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0.

Chong came through with some timely hitting for Sioux Falls. With the score 3-1 in the bottom of the first and two down, Chong hit a 1-0 cutter for a bases-clearing double. It was his 6th double of the season -- and a big reason the Red Pandas managed to win.

"We swung the bats pretty good throughout the lineup," said Sioux Falls skipper Barry Embling.

The 7th-place Red Pandas raised their record to 20-24.
