Hotspur Reserves Squelch Sioux Falls Offense in Shutout Win
|
Mike Harris never let the Sioux Falls Red Pandas find their groove. Throughout the game, Harris relied on his bread and butter, his fastball, in pitching the Hotspur Reserves to a win. In 6.2 innings, Harris surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. He allowed no runs. The save went to Jim Unknown, his 1st this season.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, third baseman Martín Martínez came through big-time for the Hotspur Reserves. With Phoenix leading 1-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
"We'll savor this win," Harris told the Phoenix Times, "then get ready for the next game."
Phoenix goes to 23-19, Sioux Falls to 19-23.
