Hotspur Reserves Fall to .500 After Loss to Fighting Dachsunds
|
Ellenburg first baseman José Vázquez made his presence felt in the 9-3 Fighting Dachsunds triumph over the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves. Vázquez was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Norberto Garza picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Mike Harris was tagged with the loss. The Fighting Dachsunds, at 14-18, sit in 7th place in the Silver AAA.
Ellenburg took a 5-3 lead on Vázquez's 36th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which he hit off Mike Harris in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Ellenburg to the win.
In postgame comments, Vázquez told the Ellenburg News: "Do people still doubt I give 100%?"
