The Calgary Lynx defeated the Pennsauken Flyers, 5-1, in USSL Triple A action at Pennsauken Park, with Calgary pitcher Roy Shively named player of the game. Shively was the winning pitcher and moves to 1-0. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 2 walks. Tate Beason finished the game for Calgary and earned his 8th save.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the sixth. That's when José Carlos Ramos, who is tied for 4th in the SAAA in bases on balls with 17, drew a walk. The Lynx went on to win.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Shively.
After today's action, Calgary sits at 14-11, while Pennsauken falls to 13-12.
