Halberds Win in Glorious Fashion
People near Ballpark of Alloway no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.

The Alloway Halberds scored a 3-2 win versus the Port Royal Disaster at Ballpark of Alloway. Alloway pitcher Jim Unknown nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Alloway reliever Jim Unknown was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Omar Casteneda took the loss.

Manny Gonzáles provided some late-game heroics for Alloway. In the bottom of the 13th inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a first pitch cutter from Omar Casteneda and propelled Alloway to a 3-2 lead.

In postgame comments to the Alloway Daily News, Gonzáles said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

The 4th-place Halberds lifted their record to 13-12.
