Disaster Best Red Pandas in Pitching Duel
|
Port Royal Disaster starter Roberto Covas turned in a sterling performance against the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, leading his team to a slim 2-0 win. The Disaster are now 10-13, while the Red Pandas fall to 10-13.
Paul Smith also delivered for the Disaster. The veteran third baseman belted a solo home run in the top of the seventh. The longball put Port Royal on top, 2-0. Overall, Smith was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Sioux Falls skipper Barry Embling, "and it cost us."
