Flyers Bang Out 8-3 Win Versus Phoenix
|
Despite a great performance by Phoenix catcher Júlio Mateo, the Pennsauken Flyers defeated the Hotspur Reserves by the score of 8-3 at Pennsauken Park. Mateo went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Zach Rediker was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. The Flyers raised their record to 10-9.
In the bottom of the third, Enrique Ibarra hit a 2-run single for Pennsauken. The 12th hit of the season for the Pennsauken third baseman put the Flyers on top, 5-3.
"Feels good to get the job done," Ibarra said after the game.
