Disaster Shut Out Flyers
|
In a tight game between the Pennsauken Flyers and the Port Royal Disaster, nobody was more important for the winners than David McJannett. McJannett, who received player of the game accolades for the Disaster, was masterful in the 2-0 win. Port Royal reliever Alfredo Hernández was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Augusto Ramos took the loss. Picking up the save was Omar Casteneda, his 4th.
Manuel Becerra drew 1 walk for Port Royal. In the bottom of the fifth, with the teams deadlocked, 0-0, Becerra delivered for the Disaster. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Port Royal on top, 1-0.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Pennsauken skipper Juan Rodríguez, "and it cost us."
Port Royal, now 7-11, is off to a slow start.
