Oaks Deal Patriots Painful Loss
|
Fans who came to Oakland Coliseum watched the Oakland Oaks and the Boston Patriots fight to the finish.
The Oakland Oaks topped the Boston Patriots by the score of 5-4, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Jorge Vargas. Vargas hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Oaks. Oakland reliever Seb Alport got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Kyung-un Yi was tagged with the loss.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Oakland trailing 4-3, Micah Coffey hit a fastball from Kyung-un Yi to right for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Oaks had a walk-off win.
"This place sure got loud," said DAshley GoAs, the Oakland manager.
Their 22-30 record puts the Oaks 8th in the Premier League.
