Chris Sommer never let the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves find their groove. Throughout the game, Sommer, who was drafted in the two round of the 2026 draft, relied on his bread and butter, his fastball, in pitching the Tritons to a win. The Jersey City Tritons, now 10-3, have been on fire in the early going.

Jersey City grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, Preston Witt delivered a bases-clearing double, to make it 4-1 in favor of the Tritons.

"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Jersey City manager Rich Harris.
