Hotspur Reserves Bump Off Fighting Dachsunds, 9-0
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Reserves picked up a win at Thunderbirds Stadium, knocking off the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 9-0. Starting pitcher Mitchell Atwell, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Atwell picked up the win for Phoenix, going 6.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Phoenix, now 7-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The tension was thick in the top of the fifth inning. With the bases loaded and Ellenburg trailing 3-0, Mitchell Atwell had to get a big out. On a 2-2 fastball, he retired Alfredo Martínez, who flied out.
