Disaster Win, Hope to Turn around Slow Start
In a close game at Thunderbirds Stadium, the Port Royal Disaster edged the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 5-3. Port Royal third baseman Paul Smith earned the nod as player of the game after he was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the save was Omar Casteneda, his 2nd. The Disaster, with just their 3rd win so far in 2027, have yet to catch fire.

Luis Ríos drew 2 walks for Port Royal. The top prospect had a key at-bat in the top of the second. That's when he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Dylan Guérin. It was his 2nd walk of the season.

In comments to the Port Royal Bulletin, Smith admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
